Meghan's Year of Service

Generations Incorporated has had so much experience with AmeriCorps, from working with members and with many of the staff being former members themselves, they are able to really guide you through the experience and help you get as much out of it as possible.

I learned so much about myself. The most important part for me was to finally understand who I am and what I want to get out of life. I developed strengths I never knew I had before becoming a part of Generations Incorporated.

The relationships are the most amazing part of the experience. You get to work so closely with so many different groups of people and you are given the opportunity to become a part of each of them. I have never felt so much support from so many different people: the Experience Corps volunteers who become your family and take care of you, the other AmeriCorps members who you lean on, the staff who guides you through everything, and the kids who make you feel loved.

I definitely became more committed to education and giving kids more individual attention - if every school can give each child more one-on-one time, the results will be gigantic.
