Corporate Volunteers

Corporations that partner with Generations Incorporated distinguish themselves as socially responsible and earn the gratitude and loyalty of more than 2,000 students in Greater Boston, plus their families, schools, and local communities. Corporate volunteers gain visibility as good citizens, reaching a variety of audiences. A great way for organizations to get involved in reaching out is through our Book Folder Events.

Book Folders!

We provide a library of 300-500 books for each school or after school program where we offer our programs. Every book is accompanied by a colorful Book Folder, which is the important tool used by our literacy volunteers during reading sessions with children.

Book folders serve as a “road map” for the volunteer as they coach children. They are full of great learning material, such as:

  • Conversation Starters
  • Open-ended questions about the text
  • Challenging vocabulary words
  • Writing exercises.

Each Book Folder is creatively designed by volunteers, and we provide materials and instructions.

Our Book Folder Events are a great way to engage the corporate community in one-time volunteer service. They are great service opportunities to reconnect you to your childhood and ignite your inner artist, and it provides an instrumental and important resource to our programs. If you are interested in sponsoring a Book Folder party, please contact C.T. Ransdell at 617.778.0501, or Dan McConvey at 617.399.4668.
